DESCRIPTION: Length up to 6mm. A small beetle that has black antennae, a black head and a brownish, ochre-coloured pronotum and elytra. All tibiae are yellow, except the hind tibiae which has a little black coloring in the apical half. The head is finely wrinked and the pronotum roughly punctuated. DISTRIBUTION: Widely distributed throughout the UK but becoming scarcer and more localised in Scotland. HABITAT: On the leaves of Birch and Sallow that are primarily found in wetland areas. PERIOD: April to October.
